In addition to providing our readers with a weekly US economic calendar, HAS has decided that it is equally important to provide a weekly thought that transcends business and may actually help us to live better and more productive lives!
This is an ambitious endeavor we know because in reality we are as guilty as most others in our tireless focus on our clients and our business but, as they say, it certainly can’t hurt to try!
And at the end of the day if we do succeed in achieving some level of refocus, it may actually help us in all parts of our lives including business!
So for our inaugural quote we have tapped the Dalai Lama who, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, said the following:
“Man.
Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;
the result being that he does not live in the present or the future;
he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”
