US Economic Calendar for the Week of June 2, 2014
For anyone who’s concerned with the future direction of mortgage rates while at the same time trying to determine what the condition of the US economy actually is, the data scheduled for release during the upcoming week will most certainly provide evidence along with strong anecdotal clues.
As one example, on Friday, June 6, the Employment Report for May is scheduled to be released with the following expected:
8:30 am | Nonfarm payrolls | May | 200,000 est. | 288,000 prior month | |
8:30 am | Unemployment rate | May | 6.4% est. | 6.3% prior month |
In conjunction with this data, any comments from Federal Reserve members will be parsed by market participants for possible clues about future monetary easing or tightening intentions.
Finally, the markets will be watching global hotspots in places like Ukraine as well as for any hints at potential fiscal policy adjustments that might come from the EU, China or elsewhere.
All in all the table has been set for what might be significant action in both the bond and stock markets.
