Do you love watching professional tennis but don’t love the price of tickets for the US Open?

The main singles draw of the US Open Tennis Tournament will begin on August 25th at the National Tennis Center in Queens, NY and ticket prices for the event will run the gamut from expensive to very expensive to completely out of reach.

But, if you would like to see top level pros compete for the few remaining slots in the main draw, then the qualifying tournament being held from Tuesday, August 19th through Friday, August 22, may be just what the doctor ordered.

And the best part besides the fantastic tennis is that admission is free!

Courtesy of the official US Open website, this is the description of the qualifying tournament that will result in 16 lucky men and 16 lucky women being entered into the main singles draw!

What the qualifying tournament is all about!

‘If you can’t wait for the US Open to begin, you can get a head start on the action by coming out for the US Open Qualifying Tournament – one of the largest tennis tournaments in the world – with more than $1 million in prize money.

It’s held free to the public from Tuesday, Aug. 19, to Friday, Aug. 22, and consists of 128 men and 128 women competing for the final 32 entries (16 men and 16 women) in the 2014 US Open singles draws.’ (Source)
