NYC Real Estate: This Building is Big (the biggest), Expensive and Spectacular!

By | October 11, 2014

The tallest residential tower in the Western Hemisphere (for now), located of course in New York City, is finished and only exceeded in height by 1 World Trade Center!

Expected to top out next week, this ultra-luxury building that was the creation of legendary New York-based developer Harry Macklowe and Los Angeles-based investment firm CIM Group, will be 1,379 feet tall with apartments priced at $4,000 square foot and higher!

And, under the heading of if you have to ask how much the monthly maintenance is then you likely can’t afford the apartment, the penthouse was reported to have been sold for about $90 million.

Highlighted back in April at the Hallmark Abstract Service blog in an article titled ‘432 Park Avenue, NYC: 92nd Floor PH priced at $79.5 million! (Floor Plan)‘, this specific apartment is big, expensive and it is spectacular.

The Sky’s The Limit!

Have you ever wondered what you would get for your money if you had $80 million to plunk down on an apartment in New York City?

Of course for anyone living in parts of the United States not New York’s Manhattan, the ability to spend $300,000 or maybe even $500,000 would normally be enough to get you a home or apartment that is pretty damn nice even if not necessarily extravagant.

Manhattan is of course another beast altogether with a real estate market that is incredibly strong and that caters to the rich and famous from all over the world!

And even more specifically when speaking about 432 Park Avenue, a building that when completed in 2015 is going to be the Western Hemisphere’s tallest residential structure, the sky is of course the limit on both luxury and on price!

The 92nd floor PH there is being marketed by Douglas Elliman in conjunction with Macklowe Properties and carries an asking price of $79,500,000.

So what exactly does this apartment have to offer for that price?

This extraordinary full floor, 8,255 square foot penthouse has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and two powder rooms. North, South, East, and West exposures provide panoramic views of Central Park and the City. The interiors feature solid oak flooring, soaring 12′-6? ceilings, and expansive 10′ x10′ windows. A private elevator landing opens to an elegant entry gallery which leads to a 29′ x 44′ corner living room and a separate library with a wood burning fireplace. The corner dining room offers multiple exposures and flows seamlessly into the residence’s windowed eat-in chef’s kitchen featuring a wine cellar, pantry, center island, marble floors and countertops, white lacquer and natural oak cabinetry, Miele stainless steel appliances and Dornbracht polished chrome fixtures. The 15′ x 30′ corner master bedroom suite features a sitting room, spacious dressing rooms and two windowed baths with marble floors and walls, cubic marble vanities with carved 22? oval sinks, custom wood cabinets, freestanding soaking tub and shower, radiant heated floors and Dornbracht polished chrome bath fittings. There are five additional bedrooms with en suite baths. This listing courtesy of Douglas Elliman

And as you might expect showings are by appointment only!

The honor of being the tallest residential building in NYC and the Western Hemisphere may be short-lived, however, as a 1,400 foot tower is now under construction and a 1,775 foot tower is on the drawing board!
