Reading or listening to business news one hears many opinions on where it is that Americans should be investing their money for the long-term!
Equity fund managers and those individuals responsible for selling equities will say that historically it’s the stock market.
Gold bugs will of course say gold or other storable metals and believers in Bitcoin might try and steer you in that alternative currency’s direction.
Conversely, two investment vehicles you will likely not hear suggested by many today for most investors are bonds and CDs.
But what do Americans think about where they should be investing their money for maximum long-term gain?
For the second year in a row, the big winner is real estate followed by stocks and then gold which fell to third!
The chart below reflects the results of a survey conducted by Gallup (further analysis can be found here).
