October 1, 2018, the combat veterans 501(c)(3) Heroes To Heroes Foundation held its 1st Annual West Coast Charity Golf Outing at the historic Riviera Country Club, located in Pacific Palisades, California!

The event at Riviera, a Top 100 course that’s ranked #37 in the world, was a huge success as a field capped at 18 foursomes enjoyed a perfect California day on a layout that’s been described as one with ‘no weaknesses’. Riviera is home to the PGA Tour Genesis Open, won last year by Bubba Watson, that will be played in February 2019.

The golf was followed by cocktails and dinner hosted by famed actor and Criminal Minds star Joe Mantegna.

Heroes To Heroes Foundation founder Judy Schaffer, HTH Board Chair Mike Haltman, HTH Treasurer Jared Levy, important donors and a group of HTH program graduates including Omar Jane and Harrison Manyoma combined to help make sure that the day went off without a hitch, and that the day’s guests had a fantastic time!

A great deal of money was raised for the Heroes To Heroes Foundation on Monday and, the critical importance of the Heroes To Heroes mission was successfully shared with many unfamiliar with it.

A highlight of the evening was Harrison Manyoma sharing with those in attendance his compelling story of how the Heroes To Heroes Foundation saved his life. He recounted how, while holding a pistol to his head, the organization prophetically reached out. From that point, his life going forward was forever changed!

Heroes To Heroes Foundation Mission Summary

Heroes To Heroes Foundation, a non-denominational 501(c)(3), successfully helps combat veterans (men and women) from all wars who have attempted suicide or are on a path towards self-destruction, through a program based in spirituality. Heroes To Heroes helps them reconnect with the faith they have lost due to the horrors of war they have experienced. Loss of faith is a critical factor for a great many who attempt suicide.

HTH achieves our phenomenal results by sending groups of 12-14 veterans to Israel. There they visit the holiest sites of all major religions and travel with 3 IDF soldiers who fully understand depression and moral injury.

At some point during the journey this reconnection with faith will typically be achieved and, as a result, all of the 200+ veterans who have come through our program are with us and in various stages of healing.

Additionally, approximately 85% of donations go directly towards achieving our mission.
